New York City Ballerina Portrait : Camila

A while back I had the pleasure of working with this very talented young ballerina in New York City, and I’m happy to finally be able to share them with you here. The three images above were inspired by Alice in Wonderland, and were made with the intention of being displayed as a triptych, as above. Gotta love it when the final image comes out like what you planned in your head… these are some of my favorites from our shoot. Many more inside.:)Ballerina Portraits in the City - Kurtis Kronk Photography

Frio Pecan Farm Wedding : Sarah + Dusty

Sarah & Dusty’s wedding was held at the beautiful Frio Pecan Farm in Leakey, Texas. For any wedding over an hour away we like to drive out the day before and stay in a nearby hotel if possible, and the drive out to Leakey was particularly interesting; what would normally be a two hour trip took us about four hours. Apparently we drove into a hurricane. Or a tsunami. Or something big and wet, like those awkward kisses from grandma that last just a little too long. You know what I’m talking about. To say it was raining hard would be an understatement.

Just when we thought we were in the clear, as we were about to pull into the Frio Pecan Farm, we saw a low water crossing… And there was definitely water over it – we couldn’t tell whether it was a couple of inches or a couple of feet. What to do, what to do… Thankfully, it wasn’t long before we saw a truck drive right through, and we were able to determine that we’d make it – finally, we’d arrived! So we met up with Sarah at her cabin, gave her a big hug, and assured her that no matter what, her wedding was going to be beautiful, and we were prepared to cover everything, rain or shine. We even brought some galoshes and colorful umbrellas to embrace the rain, if it came to that.

I was really proud of Sarah for holding up as well as she did – I’m sure there were some tears when we weren’t around, but she wasn’t going to let a little [or a lotta] rain get in the way of enjoying her wedding. When we woke up in the morning it was cloudy and looked like rain, so we prepared accordingly, but as the day went on, the clouds start to thin out…

Four hours before the ceremony was scheduled to begin, this was the view at the Frio Pecan Farm. It was going to be a good day.

Oh yeah, and one more thing…

Environmental Portrait : MMG Computers

I’m in the planning stages of a collaborative personal project with friend and fellow photographer, David Teran. Kicking off a series of proof-of-concept shoots, today we photographed Michael and Marlon Gutierrez of MMG Computers in San Antonio, TX.

They were great sports, and were even kind enough to clean up the place beforehand. Oh, wait… nope. But that’s okay, because any techie knows a messy workplace is a productive workplace!

Stay tuned for more from the series, and have a look at David’s take from the shoot.
