It’s time for a splash of color. This photo was originally processed with my Sepia preset, but upon revisiting it I decided it has a greater impact in color. Not normal color, by any means, but color nonetheless. There isn’t a lot of story behind this one – I thought the huge flock of birds was interesting (reminiscent of a scene from a certain old movie, not that it came across at all in this shot… I was a bit slow focusing and changing settings on the camera). The birds still add interest, I think, and for no particular reason, I really like the building with two towers that looks like it’s mirroring itself (anyone know the name of that building?).

For processing of Reservoir lake, I used another one of my custom Lightroom presets: Desaturated, Punchy. There aren’t many settings left alone in that preset, but I didn’t make a single adjustment beyond applying the preset. As with my other presets, I’ll make this one available for download in a future post. More tutorial videos to come as well, in case you were wondering.
